Useful tips for texturing and texture painting!
If you want to texturize your 3D model in Blender, this tutorial is for you! This tutorial can teach you basic texturing in Blender. Texturing in Blender is very easy, you just need to add UV map and you can start texturing. But you also need a texture image. In order to learn how to add textures, here is the simple tutorial:
Introduction
In order to paint textures in Blender, go to Texture Painting mode. If you try to paint without an image texture, you will get an error message. That’s because when you load the default Blender workspace, any model that you add into the environment won’t have any material until you go to shading mode.

Basic tips
Texturing is very useful for making a model look detailed and professional. I will teach you some basic tips for texturing, that can also be found in the tutorial video:
Primary/Secondary colors
When you press Ctrl key, you can switch between primary and secondary color.
Blur
You can blur parts of your texture by using Blur tool, but for some reason, it can cause lagging in Blender.
Smear
The smear tool is used for smudging a colored part of the texture, especially if you want to make a smoother transition between colors or fix some unwanted color.
Airbrush
The airbrush tool is perfect for drawing with smoother brush strokes. You can make a smoother texture, but this depends on your texturing preferences.

Clone Brush
The clone tool works by using 3D cursor as a clone stamp tool. To make it work, you need to adjust your 3D cursor, it will clone parts of the texture that typically occur around the 3D cursor. Think about it like using the same tool in Photoshop, it works with a slightly different approach: by using the cursor as a primary source.

Erase brushes
There are three erase tools that are used for erasing a texture. When you do it in any part of the model, it will become black. These two tools – erase hard pressure and erase soft pressure will only work if you have a graphics tablet, so here is a quick demo of how to use pressure sensitivity.
Other tips
The fill tool is used for filling the entire model with a single color. It is the same as applying a material. The mask tool only works with a stencil mask. If you add it into the texture, you won’t be able to paint unless the mask only contains a part of the model. By pressing right mouse button, you can open the brush settings, which also contains blending modes. This is another cool feature while painting textures with overlay, vivid light and many more options.

Conclusion
Texturing is a great way to achieve professional quality of artwork, especially if your main goal is to make 3D models with many details, which will look visually more interesting and appealing. You can also add textures in other kinds of models, which is a perfect thing if you want to practice making textures and make professional artwork.
